NU is a collection dedicated to the essence of materials, where we seek to allow materials to speak for themselves, both in their natural and processed form, stripped of any cover. The clean lines of the design are intended to highlight the contrast and interaction between the elements. This results in a provocative yet harmonious aesthetic, evoking images of a hot, dystopian universe, as we imagine being described in late 1960s science fiction. The sizing of the pieces takes into account that sixties vision of the human and the home.

In Danish, "nu" means "now", and this meaning sparked our interest in exploring the trajectory of each element used until the present moment. Ceramics that were once bricks are now dust. Glass that was once a vase is now a shard. Marble that was once a worktop is now scrap. Aluminum that was once a pot has become liquid and solidified again.

These elements: ceramics, Bahia beige marble, glass and aluminum - all from recycled or waste sources - give shape to furniture and objects for the needs of the now. We believe that now is the time to prioritize reuse in design. Therefore, choosing to incorporate these elements is urgent and necessary. Despite the abundance with which they are found from the north to the south of the country, they are underestimated and undervalued.
