BLOCOS is a family of candlesticks and vases based on the creation of objects with elements discarded by the natural stone industry. The objects consist of the association of small marble pieces that have been processed, stacked and glued together.
The manufacture of blocks dates back to the aesthetics of Classical Antiquity, having as its main inspiration the constructive method of Greek columns, in which large carved marble blocks were stacked in order to create the architectural space.
Available colors may vary according to the availability of discarded materials. Which is in line with our main philosophy, which is to maximize the reuse of materials considered unusable.
Scratches, scars, holes or discolorations are intrinsic features of materials that for some reason have been discarded. Therefore, our intention with BLOCOS is also to incorporate imperfections as positive marks linked to the history and identity of the objects, which, no matter how much they are worked and polished, will carry in themselves the fact that one day they were already trash.
We also want to make a call to the world to explore new possibilities for defining what beauty is, especially in relation to design objects, and thus learn to value the imperfect as much as the perfect in things.
